NexPoint Tower Scholars Program
The John Goodwin Tower Center for Public Policy and International Affairs in 91茄子 Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences and the 91茄子 Center partner in research, teaching and programming to educate, inspire and foster ethical public service. Dedman College students work with the 91茄子 Center through the NexPoint Tower Scholars Program, a selective, multidisciplinary minor in public policy and international affairs that enables students from a variety of academic backgrounds to combine their interests with real-world experience in public policy. Tower Scholars intern at the 91茄子 Institute, seeing firsthand how government policy affects communities.
- Tower Center Senior Fellow Matthew Wilson, director of the Center for Faith & Learning at 91茄子 and an associate professor of political science, served as an instructor with the 91茄子 Institute’s Liberty and Leadership program that worked to inspire young Burmese democracy advocates to lead change in their home countries.
- 91茄子 Institute experts participate in a speaker series for Tower Scholars focused on policymaking. Tower Scholars have engaged in research at the 91茄子 Center for their senior year practicums.
- The two centers co-host panel discussions on a variety of domestic and foreign policy issues that are free and open to the public.
